Personal safety
• Be careful, pay attention to what you are doing
and work sensibly when using the power tool.
• Do not use the power tool when you are tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
• Wear your personal protective equipment
(PPE) and use protective goggles at all times.
• Avoid inadvertent starting of the power tool.
Make sure the power tool is switched off before
picking it up, carrying it, connecting it to the
power supply or inserting the battery.
• Remove setting tools or wrenches before
switching on the power tool.
• Avoid abnormal body postures. Ensure secure
footing and maintain your balance at all times.
• If dust extraction and collection devices can be
connected, use them.
• Do not disregard the safety rules, even after
frequent use!
Operation and handling of the power tool
• Do not overload the power tool!
• Do not use a defective power tool, especially
one with a defective ON/OFF switch.
• Remove the plug from the plug socket or
remove the battery before making adjustments
to the tool, changing attachment parts or
putting the power tool away.
• Keep the power tool out of the reach of children
when not in use.
• Do not allow persons to use power tools who
are not familiar with them or who have not read
these instructions.
• Handle power tools and attachments with care.
Check that moving parts function and do not
jam, and that parts are not broken or damaged
in such a way that the function of the power
tool is impaired. Have damaged parts repaired
before using the power tool.
• Keep cutting tools sharp!
• Use the power tool in accordance with these
instructions. Give consideration to the working
conditions and the work to be carried out.
• Keep the handles and handle surface dry,
clean and free from oil or grease.
Service
• Have your power tool repaired only by qualified
specialist personnel and only with original
spare parts.
• Never service damaged batteries. All
maintenance of batteries should be carried out
only by the manufacturer or authorised service
centres.
Additional safety precautions for batteries
• Never attempt to open the battery for any
reason. If the plastic case of the battery is
broken or cracked, turn in the battery for
recycling to your local hazardous waste
collection point.
• Maximum battery life and best operating char-
acteristics can only be achieved if the battery is
stored and charged at an ambient temperature
of b15 °C and +25 °C. Charging the
battery at an ambient temperature below +5 °C
or above +40 °C is not recommended.
• During charging, the charger and the battery
may become warm. This is normal and is not a
sign of problems.
• To prevent overheating, do not charge the
batteries in direct sunlight, when the weather is
hot or near heat sources.
• Do not charge the battery in a cabin or
container. The battery must be in a well-venti-
lated area during charging.
• If the battery is defective, electrolyte could
escape and cause damage to adjacent
components. Inspect the adjacent components
and clean or replace them, as necessary.
• Do not burn batteries even if they have serious
damage or can no longer be charged. Batteries
can explode in the fire.
• To help cool the battery after use, avoid using
the charger or battery under a metal shelter or
in a trailer without thermal insulation.
• When the battery is not in use, store it away
from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
and other small metal objects that could cause
a short circuit between its terminals. A short
circuit between the terminals of the battery may
cause another short circuit, resulting in a fire or
explosion.
