2.5 Pulse Accumulation module
What is Pulse Accumulation (Digital Input Pulse Accumulation) module
Digital Input Pulse Accumulation module enables you to count the pulses of the input
signal and provides the count in a periodic interval or the PV data as per the Series 8
Digital Input module. Digital Input Pulse Accumulation module supports 32 channels.
For channels 1-16 you can select either the pulse counting functionality or the PV
processing functionality. By default, channels 17-32 exhibit the Digital Input channel
functionality. However, the option to configure the channels 17-32 for pulse counting is
currently not available.
Features of Digital Input Pulse Accumulation
The key features of Digital Input Pulse Accumulation modules are as follows:
Supports precise pulse counting (for minimum pulse width of 300 microseconds) or
PV processing based on the selection.
Supports to reset the raw pulse count.
Supports I/O redundancy.
Supports power supply redundancy.
For information about the Digital Input Pulse Accumulation module specification, refer
to the latest Specification and Technical document.
Limitations of Digital Input Pulse Accumulation
The limitations of Digital Input Pulse Accumulation modules are as follows:
Field diagnostics is not supported.
DIMODE parameter for Low Latency is not supported (that is, 5 ms PV scanning is
not supported).
