Drop antennas without an extension: Remove the three locking screws with a 3 mm Allen
wrench.

Remove the antenna from the part below the flange (if there are no antenna extensions). If the
device has one or more antenna extensions, remove the locking screw from the top antenna
extension and remove the antenna and the antenna extensions from the part below the flange.

The antenna is not attached to the device. If the device has a Drop antenna, make sure that
the O-ring stays in the groove on the antenna or antenna extension.

dimensions and the process.

NPT connection: Wind the thread seal tape around the process connection in agreement with
good engineering practice.

Put the device carefully on the silo process connection. Do not attach the threaded connection
to the silo yet.
•
Go inside the tank. If you attach the antenna in a closed space, make sure that there is good
airflow in the area.
•
Attach the antenna to the part below the threaded connection. We recommend that a person
holds the device on top of the silo.
•
Go to the top of the tank. Lift the device a small distance.
•

Attach the antenna locking screw to the antenna extension. Tighten the antenna locking
screw.

Attach the device to the silo process connection.

Tighten the connection to the correct torque (not more than 40 N
·
m / 29.5 lbf
·
ft).
•
Make sure that you point the device in the correct direction. For more data, refer to
General
notes
on page 28 ("Point the device in the correct direction").

3.8 How to attach antenna extensions
If the device is not supplied with the antenna attached to the signal converter or antenna
extensions are supplied as an accessory after delivery of the device, do the procedures that
follow.

antenna extension has a length of 105 mm / 4.1
