If the converter output is correct, but the battery is not charging, there may be a problem with an open wire
between the converter and battery.
If the fuses are blown the battery was connected in reverse. It only takes one second of reverse connection to
blow the fuse. If the power requirement for the converter is met, the fuses are good and there is no output from the
converter, the converter is bad and will need to be replaced.
convErtEr/diStriBution PanEl - 30 aMP 120 volt ac/12 volt dc
The standard distribution panel is rated for 30 Amp service only. Ensure this amperage is not exceeded. The
distribution panel contains both 120 Volt AC and 12 Volt DC Circuits. The house 120 Volt AC contains Circuit
Breakers where the 12 Volt DC contains fuses that protect the electrical circuits. Power is introduced into the
panel to the 30 Amp MAIN breaker first, followed by power being fed to the individual branch circuit breakers.
The panel label describes the breaker layout and the item, outlet or appliance to which they pertain.
The 120 Volt AC Circuit Assignments are as follows:
1. Main Breaker - 30 Amp circuit breaker.
2. Main Air Conditioner - 20 Amp circuit breaker.
3. Microwave - 15 Amp circuit breaker.
4. Bedroom Recepts - 15 Amp circuit breaker.
5. Water Heater - 15 Amp circuit breaker.
6. GFCI Recept - 15 Amp circuit breaker.
WARNING:
This panel contains high voltage, which can cause serious injury or death. Before beginning
any work or testing procedures involving the electric panels, or any of the branch circuits,
be sure the recreational vehicle is unplugged from shore power. Certain testing procedures
can require the AC power to be on. Only qualified technicians with electrical backgrounds
should attempt any testing procedure.
Branch circuits supply AC power to the different items or “loads.” An electrical load is any item or device
that uses current when supplied with an electromotive force. Should a breaker “trip” from over-current use, or
from a short circuit, the load to which the breaker is supplying the electromotive force should be reviewed or
disconnected to determine the cause of the trip. If no cause is found, or not readily apparent, reset the breaker by
toggling the breaker to the OFF position, then back to ON. Should the breaker trip again after the load is reapplied
it may indicate a fault with that particular load. Do not continue to reset breaker until the problem has been
diagnosed and corrected.
The 12 Volt DC fuses are the standard automotive type. When a fuse is “blown” the wire in middle of the
plastic case will be burnt. A broken, bad or “blown” fuse must be replaced with a fuse of the same rating and type.
Using a fuse with a different rating or type will defeat the circuit protection provided by that fuse and could result
in damage to the electrical system.
The 12 Volt DC Circuit Assignments are as Follows:
1. Furnace - 15 Amp.
9. A/C Therm - 3 Amp.
2. Refer - 5 Amp.
10. Rear Lights - 15 Amp.
3. Monitor Panel - 15 Amp.
11. Kitchen Lights - 15 Amp.
4. Slide-out Lights - 15 Amp.
12. Bath Lights - 15 Amp.
5. TV Booster - 15 Amp.
13. Front Lights - 15 Amp.
6. Service Lights - 15 Amp.
14. Security Lights - 15 Amp.
7. Radio -3 Amp.
15. Roof Vents - 15 Amp.
8. LP Detector - 5 Amp.
