14.11 The BrailleSense Polaris MINI Does Not Respond
1. If the BrailleSense Polaris MINI does not respond to keystrokes or commands,
it may be necessary to reset the unit. To reset the BrailleSense Polaris MINI, press
"1-2-3-4-5-6-F2-F3."
2) If the soft reset does not revive the BrailleSense Polaris MINI, you may need
to completely shut down the unit. The easiest way to do this is to remove the
battery, leave it out for a few seconds, re-insert it, and power on the unit.
3) Initializing Polaris MINI Options: if you are not able to solve your problem with
the above methods, you may need to reset your Polaris MINI options back to
factory defaults. You can do this in two ways: if your unit is operational, you can
launch the “Initialize Polaris MINI options” item in the “Settings” menu. You may
also hold the Forward Media key while pressing the Power On Button. Continue
to hold Forward until “HIMS” is displayed on the braille display.
4: Hard resetting the Android system: In very serious cases, it may be necessary
to perform a full system reset. However, this should not be attempted unless all
other options have been exhausted, or unless you wish to completely erase all
data, applications and settings. In addition, this process is complex and unique,
and should only be done under the direction of an authorized support staff
