Operation
➜ The parameters
Rotation
,
Bath Temperature
and
Auto Accurate
are
assigned a start/stop pair of buttons. Touch these buttons to individually activate
or deactivate the associated process (start/stop rotation, bath heating on/off, start/
stop AUTOaccurate).
➜ Touch the
Warm Up
button to activate the heating function for the heating bath.
➜ Touch the
Start All
button to start all processes with the displayed setpoints at
the same time.
➜ Touch the
Stop All
to stop all processes at the same time.
The current settings can be stored and loaded at any time as
Favorite in the system memory using the
Save
button (see
section “Favorites and Profiles” on page 136).
Distillation under atmospheric pressure
In certain cases, distillation under atmospheric pressure (low boiling) may be neces-
sary. Refer to the specific safety and operating instructions in this section.
During atmospheric pressure distillation, only the flask rotation and the heating bath
are started manually in the SETpressure operating mode after filling the evaporation
flask.
The vacuum function must remain switched off, otherwise the vacuum pump will be
switched on and vacuum will be built up in the system.
CAUTION: Risk of injury and/or damage to property, loss of
production
During distillation under atmospheric pressure, excess pressure
may occur in the system. There is a risk that gas or fluid escapes
into the ambient air throughout the seals and joints in a high
system pressure situation.
There is a risk of bursting under extreme pressure condi-
tions!
➜ Carefully compare the process parameters with the prevailing
ambient conditions and the chemical-physical properties of your
distillation product (observe data sheets)!
➜ Pay particular attention to the specific safety instructions for
the processing of toxic substances!
➜ Only operate the device with the guard hood closed or under a
closed laboratory fume hood.
➜ Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Procedure
➜ In the system settings, disable the
Leakage Pressure
stop criterion, see
section “Menu item Safety Settings” on page 119. Touch the icon of the
Leakage Pressure
field. The icon changes to , the stop criterion is
disabled.
