Fill/empty the heating bath
This section describes the procedure for filling and emptying the heating bath.
Bath fluid selector
Before filling the heating bath for the first time and when changing the bath fluid, the
bath fluid selector on the back of the device must be moved to the required position.
The selection can only be changed if the device is switched off and
the heating bath fluid has cooled down to at least 50 °C!
The bath fluid selector setting on the back of the device affects the
following device functions:
▪ Process control (automatic mode)
▪ Heating bath level sensor
▪ Automatic water bath refill
➜ Slide the bath fluid selector to the OIL or WATER position.
• WATER position
– Maximum temperature setting: 90 °C
– Automatic water bath refill active
– Heating bath level sensor active
• OIL position
– Maximum temperature setting: 180 °C
– Automatic water bath refill inactive
– Heating bath level sensor deactivated
➜ The setting of the bath fluid selector must be confirmed in the
Settings
menu,
see “Menu item Bath fluid” on page 121.
Fill the heating bath
CAUTION: Risk of property damage, loss of production
If the filling level is too high, there is a risk that the heating bath
fluid will overflow when the flask is immersed.
The device and surrounding areas can be severely contaminated by
escaping heating bath fluid!
➜ Observe the mark for maximum filling level in the heating bath!
➜ Set the bath fluid selector on the rear of the device to the correct position, see
section “Bath fluid selector” on page 112.
