Calibration and seed rate
The adjustment, emptying, cleaning, etc., at and around the
dosing unit are made most easily and safest when the Fanterra
is folded up and lowered to solid ground on the integrated
parking stands.
The tractor shall be stopped and the key removed from the
ignition.
The seed rate is set by means of a metering barrel with a
maximum width of 200 mm. By means of the adjustment screw
located on the right-hand of the metering system you can alter
the size of this barrel to set the desired seed rate. Simply find
the seed rate you require from the calibration chart and set the
outside edge of the metering barrel with the recommended
scale.
Adjustment for fine seeding
If you are working with small seed you must ensure that the
small seed flutes are entered this reduces the volume of the
metering barrel. When the seed hopper is empty, the cell wheel
is set to opening 0 by means of the adjustment screw. Lift the
two red claws out of the main metering sprocket and rotate 180
degrees then push the black outer into the metering barrel, now
the two red claws will sit in the pre-lined slots on the seed
flutes. This adjustment must be made before any seed is placed
in the drill.
When the small seed flutes are in place you must not alter the
adjustment screw past 70 on the scale
The agitator is located at the bottom of the seed hopper and is
easily engaged and disengaged be pushing the small black
sprocket in or out of gear. This is located on the left-hand side of
the metering system. Agitation is recommended for seed types,
where there is a risk of bridging in the seed hopper.
