• Make sure that the crankshaft shows on
the“marking“ and that it is fixed. Ensure the
timing marks on the camshaft sprockets are
visible. Slacken the 3 x bolts on each of the
timing belt sprockets in order to allow them
to move within the elongated slots. Insert the
2 Locking Pins 25883 through the free outer
elongated slots and into the holes in the cylin
der head to lock the camshaft.

Use HAZET 25881 (Black) from the HAZET
Engine Timing Tool Set 2588/19.
• To position crankshaft at TDC – timing marks
on the tool and sprocket

is fitted and located into the hole in the oil seal
housing.

• There are now two types of crankshaft sprock
ets fitted to the pumpnozzle injection engine
(Pumpe Düse) range. Use HAZET 25881 for
’Round’ crankshaft sprocket, or HAZET 2588
110 Locking Tool (Gold) for engines with an
’Oval’ crankshaft sprocket.
