Warning: The tube clamp should be treated as a biohazard area. Always wear
rubber gloves when repairing.
Caution: Always wear an ESD strap when working on the Shaker.
Note: Shakers built after 1996 utilize self-tapping screws. Haemonetics recom-
mends updating Solenoid Assembly mounting screws with the new variety.
1. With the motor running, gently depress the front of the shroud. The follow-
ing three things should happen.
z
The audible alert will sound momentarily.
z
The red indicator light on the top of the Shaker will illuminate.
z
The solenoid should audibly engage the tube clamp.
2. If the latter alone fails to occur, or if the motion of the clamp seems slug-
gish, it is possible that the solenoid is providing insufficient force to prop-
erly clamp the tubing. This failure may be due to one of several possible
causes. To locate the problem, it will be necessary to remove the clamp
body from the neck of the Shaker to obtain access to the involved parts.
