7-4 Tube Clamp Assembly

15. Use light sand paper to remove build up on tube clamp. Assemble sole-
noid replacing the spacer. Remove residual super glue on shaft. Set the
length of the tube clamp and shaft to 4.125 + 0.010 - 0.005in.
16. Push up on bottom of solenoid, hold spacer with thumb, tip solenoid up-
side down and apply super glue to the threads where the tube clamp
meets the solenoid shaft. Do not allow super glue to run the opposite di-
rection into the shaft of the solenoid. After glue seeps in between the
threads, drop the spacer to glue it to the tube clamp.
17. Apply Dow Corning
®
55 grease Molycoat to the O-ring and tube clamp
with finger. Try to avoid greasing the face of the tube clamp.
18. Reassemble tube clamp by placing the nose of the solenoid into tube
clamp and the tube clamp into tube holder with the wires facing the open-
ing. Fasten with the self-tapping screws without a washer. Do not tighten
completely until the other screw has been started. Adjust so it does not
bind and moves freely in 360
°
.
19. Plug in the Shaker and place a blood bag set containing water on the bag
tray, with tubing threaded in the tube clamp. Press the <-> button to en-
ergize the solenoid and force an air bubble through the tubing. No move-
ment of air bubble through the tube clamp should be observed. Unplug
the Shaker.
