6.1 Select wiring mode
The power analyzer provides 5 kinds of wiring modes for various power measurements
in the single-phase or three-phase system: 1P2W, 1P3W, 3P3W, 3P3W (3V3A) and
3P4W. For detailed information about these 5 kinds of wiring modes, please refer to the
“Circuit Connection” chapter.
6.2 Set measurement range
6.2.1
Set the measurement range for direct input
When PA5000 is used to directly measure a signal, maximum voltage measurement
range is 1500V; maximum current range for 50A power board is 50A, and maximum
current range for 5A power board is 5A.
The appropriate measurement range should be selected based on actual measuring
signal. The selected range should be greater than and approximates to the measured
value as close as possible. The effect of the inappropriate range is described as follows:
1) Measurement accuracy: since the accuracy indicator is ± (%%range), the
range error will increase if select an inappropriate range.
2) Frequency measurement: PA5000 supports hardware frequency measurement.
The hardware frequency measurement can be performed only if the input signal
range is greater than 30% of the current range. If the input range is lower than 30%
of the current range, the frequency may not be measured. Since all measurement
items of an AC signal is calculated based on the frequency, if the measured
frequency is inaccurate, the measurement results of other measurement items will
be inaccurate or wrong.
1. Set range
The range mode of power analyzer contains fixed-range and auto-range modes. Users
should select one of range mode for an input element.
Fixed-range mode
. The range is fixed in this mode.
Auto-range mode
. The switchable range types in this mode are same as those in
the fixed-range, except that the power analyzer can automatically select the
minimum range within the fixed ranges based on the current measured value when
the measurement value does not exceed the range, as shown in Table 6-1.
