Notes:
[1] Urms and Irms are true voltage and current rms value respectively. Each
instantaneous value in one period is squared and the result is averaged, then the resulting average
value is squared again. The equations are shown in Appendix B.
[2] Umn/Imn is the rectified mean value calibrated to the rms value. One period of the voltage
or current is rectified and the resulting average is multiplied by the factor that would yield the true
rms value if the applied signal were a sine wave. The factor is different from the value obtained in
RMS mode when distorted waves or DC waves are measured. The equations are shown in
Appendix B.
[3] Udc/Idc is defined as the average of one period of the voltage/current. This mode is useful
for determining the average value of a DC input signal or the value of a DC signal that is
superimposed on an AC signal.
[4] Urmn/Irmn is the rectified mean voltage/current. One period of the voltage or current is
rectified and the resulting average is obtained.
[5] Crest factor is defined as the ratio of the waveform peak value to the rms value.
[6] Waveform factor is defined as the ratio of the waveform rms value to the rectified mean
value.
PA5000 power analyzer can also use digital filtering to achieve an averaging process
when calculating the measured voltage or current values.
2.3 Operating Mode
The power analyzer includes several operating modes.
Normal Mode
. This mode is used to measure voltage, current, torque, speed,
power, and implement integral operation and waveform calculation.
Normal Measurement and Analysis Mode
. In this mode, the measured data
saved in the normal mode are replayed and analyzed so that users can observe
and analyze them conveniently.
Harmonics Mode
. Harmonics measurement can be performed on a signal with
0.5Hz~5kHz fundamental frequency.
IEC Harmonics Mode
. In this mode, users are allowed to perform harmonics
measurement conforming to the international standard IEC61000-3-2 and
IEC61000-4-7.
Voltage Fluctuation and Flicker Mode
. This mode allows users to perform
voltage fluctuation and flicker measurements conforming to IEC61000-3-3 and
IEC61000-4-15. Users can also set measurement conditions themselves and
then create a report of measurement results.
