Appendix B: Updating the Software and

Firmware

Software and Firmware Update

Download the latest version of software and instructions from the GSSI support website to your
computer.

https://support.geophysical.com.

Unzip the folder to the GSSI 2GB USB drive supplied with your SIR 4000. By double-clicking on the
*.zip file, Windows will automatically open whichever compression software you have installed.

Copy all of the subfolders and files to the main directory of your USB drive.

Note

GSSI recommends using the

provided USB as not all USB drives
are formatted the same and some may
interfere with the system’s ability to do
automatic updates.
