Chapter 7: Door Assembly

1. Place the stiffener weldment (D) in the outer frame weldment (A) and install bolts (F) to hold them in

position.

2. Install the outer frame weldment (A) with the stiffener weldment (D) on the base stiffener with bolt

and nut (F).

3. Place the base boot directly above the stiffener weldment (D) in the outer frame weldment (A) and

install the bolts and nuts (F). Shim as necessary for firm support and bolt the stiffeners together
using a bolt (F), nut and washer.

4. Install bolts into the flange holes on the stiffener in the outer frame and in the small bottom short stiff-

ener under the frame. This helps to reduce water getting in between the laminate.

NOTE:

Place a plate washer (B-6756) over the slot in the base plate (both sides). Tighten with a hex
nut.

5. Install the inner frame weldment (C) to the outer frame weldment (A) with the jamb plates (B) placed

in between and install the bolts (G), sealing washers and nuts. Make sure the bolt head and washer
is on the outside of the bin when installed through the outer frame weldment (A), jamb plate (B) and
inner frame weldment (C). Utilize 7/16 x 2 in. bolts to bolt the frame and jamb plate together, except
at the corners where the additional reinforcement plate is present. Utilize 7/16 x 2-1/2 in. bolts at this
location.

NOTE:

Caulk the jamb plate and frame weldments interface as shown in Figure . At the jamb
plate to sidewall connection, use double thickness of caulking.

6. Install the bolts (G) and sealing washers through the inner frame weldment (C), jamb plate (B), stiff-

ener (D) and outer frame weldment (A) with the bolt head and washers on the inside of the bin.
