To check/replace brake pads:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER
!
2. Disconnect machine from air, then release
all air pressure in machine by opening air
valve on regulator (see
Figure 65). This will
cause disc brake assembly to open, allowing
removal of the assembly.
To reduce risk of shock or
accidental startup, always
disconnect machine from
power before adjustments,
maintenance, or service.
The disc brake assembly uses brake pads to
stop the rotor (see
Figures 63
–
64
) when the
Emergency Stop button or Emergency Stop plate
is pressed. Eventually the brake pads will wear
out.
Checking and replacing these is a simple pro-
cedure that can be done in the shop, with
the exception of having the rotor resurfaced on
a lathe
