ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Danger of injury
Before carrying out any maintenance or adjustment work, switch
off the engine and remove the key from the control panel and, with
the PTO machine, disconnect the cardan shaft
To carry out the operations described above it is obligatory to
wear protective gloves, glasses or a protective visor and safety
shoes.
WARNING:
Never rotate the flywheel by hand. Before putting your
hands near the blades or the counter-blade make sure
the flywheel has come to a complete standstill.
11.3 Adjusting the blades and the
counter-blade
N.B. Correct adjustment of the
blade/counter-blade cutting unit is
important for the regularity and piece
size of the shredded material and for
the machine to operate properly. To
adjust the cutting unit proceed as
follows.
Switch off the engine and make sure
the flywheel has come to a complete
standstill.
Remove the protective casing of the
hydraulic motor
(C)
and fix the mobile
roller in the raised position by inserting
the spacer (D) provided
Open the Hopper
(T)
as shown in the
figure.
Slacken the fixing screws of the
counter-blade
(V)
under the surface
supporting the rollers.
Move the counter-blade until you
obtain a distance of 1-2 cm between
blade and counter-blade.
The distance must be checked at both
ends of the counter-blade, for correct
adjustment.
Tighten the screws
(V)
of the counter-
blade.
To check that there is no interference,
rotate the blade using a piece of wood.
N.B.: Check again that the screws are
properly tightened.
At the end of the operation, remove the
spacer, put back the protective casing
(C)
in its original position, and fasten it
with its screws.
