Firebird 2 User’s Guide
Chapter 7 – Troubleshooting
To determine whether another device in your computer is conflicting with your
game port:
Change to your Firebird 2 directory and type: HELPME <Enter> Follow the
instructions on screen.
If you find a conflicting device in your system, you must disable it or change its
address to avoid problems with the Firebird 2. See the conflicting card’s
manual for information on disabling its game port or changing its address.
Some multifunction cards have game card circuits but no external joystick
connector. In these cases, it is the interface circuit that causes problems, so it is
possible to have a conflict without having another visible joystick connector.
3.
Your game may not support a joystick.
Some games are not designed to work with a joystick. Check the game’s
instructions.
4.
Your game port may not be fully IBM PC-compatible.
Firebird 2 is designed to connect directly to a game port. It may not work with
some serial or parallel port adapters that are not fully compatible with IBM PC
game ports.
