Firebird 2 User's Guide
Chapter 3 – Firebird Control Console
Typematic Settings
Each time you press a button configured with a single key in “Standard”
mode, Firebird 2 sends that key to the game, delays, then repeats the key for
as long as you hold down the button. The key repeat and delay are controlled
by your Typematic settings.
Typematic Delay:
When you press a “Standard” mode button that is
assigned a single key, Firebird 2 executes the key once, delays, then repeats
the key. This option lets you set the length of delay before the key begins to
repeat.
Typematic Rate slider:
Drag the slider left or right to set the Typematic
repeat rate for buttons you program as a Standard key. Left slows the repeat
rate; right speeds it.
The Typematic settings do not apply to buttons configured as Step or Turbo
keystroke buttons or joystick buttons or to keystroke strings.
Enable Throttle Control
Check this box to enable (turn on) the throttle on Firebird 2. The throttle is the
rightmost of the two wheels at the top of the joystick’s base—the one with the T-
handle. The throttle works with any game that supports joystick (analog)
...Edit Menu Cont'd.
If you select the Step or
Turbo option for a button,
typematic settings do not
apply. "Step" keys do not
repeat, and Turbo Rate is
controlled by the Turbo
slider.
