7.7  BRAKE PIVOT AND BRAKE ARM 

1. Disconnect the brake cable at the brake arm 

weldment.

2. Remove the two hex bolts attaching the brake pivot 

to the frame. Remove pivot and arm assembly. 
Separate the two by removing the E-ring.

3. Inspect and replace any worn or damaged parts.

4. Reassemble in reverse order. 

NOTE: Be sure that when the brake lever is pulled 
back (engaged) that the brake arm weldment moves 
rearward enough to let the switch plunger come out far 
enough to "close" the starting circuit.

5. Grease the brake pivot with a lithium base grease.
