5.2 ENGINE REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cables from
battery.
2. Disconnect the fuel line at the gas tank. Drain any
fuel from line.
3. Disconnect the throttle and choke cables.
4. Disconnect the battery and lead at starter, battery -
lead and white ground lead at engine ground point,
oil sensor and 2 lead engine connector.
5. Loosen the tension on the clutch and drive belts,
remove belts from engine sheave. .
NOTE: Engine sheave will have to be removed prior to
removing engine.
6. Remove the engine sheave bolt and slide the
sheave off the engine shaft.
7. Remove the (4) engine mounting bolts. Use a hoist
connected to the "Top," "Right," vertical engine
mounting hole and front hoist bracket to lift engine
away.
NOTE: Set the engine on (2) blocks of wood to keep
from tumbling over.
5.3 ENGINE INSTALLATION
1. Reverse disassemble procedure to reassemble.
2. Refer to section on clutch and drive belt tensioning
for adjustments.
3. Check the engine oil prior to starting engine.
4. Readjust the engine RPM’s.
