7.1 DIRECTIONAL CONTROL CABLE
Removal and Installation
1. Block the left drive wheel and move the hydraulic
lift lever to the hold position, jack the right side to
gain access to the cable ends. (Front right side of
transmission and under forward/reverse pedal.)
2. Disconnect the cable at the transmission control
arm, See Figure 13. Remove the female rod end,
mark how far the rod end is forward onto the cable.
3. Disconnect the cable at the cable control weldment
(forward/reverse pedal). Remove the female rod
end, mark how far the rod end is turned onto the
cable.
4. Slide the cable out through the two brackets and
remove from frame.
5. Inspect and replace any worn or damaged parts.
6. Reassemble in the reverse order. Turn the cable
rod ends to the position marked prior to removal.
7. The transaxle should be in neutral when the
directional control pedal is released, if not refer to
Controls and Adjustments for neutral adjustment.
7.2 DIRECTIONAL CONTROL PEDAL
Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the foot pedal adjustment linkage. See
Figure 13.
2. Remove the E-ring and washer on the right end of
the pedal shaft. Loosen the two jam nuts on the left
end, remove the left outside jam nut lock washer
and washer.
3. Slide the pedal shaft to the right enough to remove
the second jam nut and washer, slide the pedal
shaft back through the right side of the frame, lift
pedal out.
4. Inspect and replace any worn or damaged parts.
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
6. Refer to Controls and Adjustments for the proper
foot pedal adjustment.
7.3 STEERING CABLE REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the two outside jam nuts from the cable at
the caster wheel weldment. See Figure 14.
2. Remove cable.
