6. Loosen the jam nut and turn adjusting bolt
clockwise for reverse creep or counterclockwise for
forward creep until the free drive wheel stops.
7. Retighten the jam nut.
8. Tighten the two 5/16-18 retaining bolts to 14 ft-lbs
(19 Nm) to secure the position of the neutral stop
weldment.
9. This adjustment will affect the direction control
pedal adjustment.
10.Replace belt guard.
4.7 ADJUSTMENT OF DIRECTION
CONTROL PEDAL
When in full forward position, the direction control
pedal should clear the footboard by 1/8" or less, but not
touch the footboard. To adjust the pedal:
1. Locate the adjustment rod assembly underneath
the direction control pedal.
2. Loosen the jam nut which locks the rod end to the
adjusting rod (Figure 10).
3. If the pedal touches the footboard, turn the
adjusting rod to shorten the assembly. If the pedal
clearance was greater than 1/8", turn the rod to
lengthen the assembly.
4. Check the pedal clearance and readjust if
necessary.
5. Tighten the jam nut to the rod end.
