• If the piston ring is off-positive in th e groove,
reposition by moving with a fing ernail or a
b lu n t-ed ge tool.
• J 2 4 6 0 8 -5 (installer) will keep the J 2 4 6 0 8 -2
(g uide) inside w hen the piston ring is installed
on the piston (32).
• R em o ve the g u id e from the installer and do
not store the g uid e in the installer b eca u se the
seal will be stretched and w ea k e n e d during
storage. This can c a u s e th e seal not to hold
the ring installer se g m en ts tight en o ug h to the
J 2 4 6 0 8 -2 (g uide) w hen installing the piston
ring (33) to the piston (32).
4. Piston (32) to J 2 4 6 0 8 -6 (figure 38).
• L ubricate the piston ring (33) a re a with 5 2 5
viscosity refrigerant oil.
• R o ta te th e p isto n (3 2 ) a n d ring (3 3 ) into
J 2 4 6 0 8 -6 at a slight an g le until th e piston is
inserted ag ain st th e c e n te r stop
of J 24608-6.
