J 9481-A (figure 10).
2. R etainer ring (4) to th e pulley (6).
3. P ulley (6) and b earing (5) to front head (1 6 ) with
J 8 0 9 2 and J 94 81 -A .
4. R etainer ring (4) to pulley (6) and bearing (5).
5. P ulley retainer ring (3) with J 6 4 3 5 .
6. Clutch plate and hub assem bly(2).

CLUTCH COIL AND HOUSIONG
ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
Rem ove or D isconnect (Figure 1)
Tool Required:
J 6 4 3 5 S n ap Ring Pliers
1. Clutch plate and hub assem b ly (2).
2. Pulley (6).
• M ark or scribe the location of the clutch coil (8) to
term inal on the com pressor front head (16).
3. Clutch coil assem b ly (8).
• Coil housing retaining ring (7) with J 6435.
• Using a large screw driver or sm all pry bar, pry
the clutch coil aw ay from th e front head. If
n e c e s s a r y , h a n d im p a c t a b lo w to th e
screw driver h an dle or pry bar to break the
ad h esive bond of the clutch coil to the front
head.

Clean
Adhesive from the coil by scraping with a putty
knife.
Rem ove any ad h esive around the th ree locator hole
areas of the front head and around the th ree clutch
coil locator protrusions at the rear of the clutch coil
housing.
U s e a suitable solvent to clean the coil.

Im portant
After applying Loctite D e p e n d , Loctite Trim
and Detail A dhesive or eq u iv alen t to the coil,
install all the clutch parts to th e compressor.
Allow 30 m inutes for th e ad h es iv e to set.
Install or C o nnect (Figures 11 and 12)

1. A dhesive to the clutch coil (8) (figure 11).
