Establishing Pump Loop Communication
The D-Box links fuel dispensers to the Passport system. The D-Box communicates with the
Passport system through the Dispenser Hub. To establish communication between the CPC
forecourt equipment and Passport POS, proceed as follows:
1
Mount the Dispenser Hub in a location that is powered by an isolated ground and is free
from Radio Frequency Interference. For more details, refer to MDE-3760 Passport
Dispenser Hub Installation Instructions.
2
After the Dispenser Hub is securely mounted, connect an Ethernet Cable between the
LAN port and an available port (ports 1 to 8) of the router. Connect all CAT-5 Cables from
the pump and Wayne CAT loops at the D-Box to the appropriate loop on the Dispenser
Hub.
3
Apply power to the Dispenser Hub by connecting the AC cable to the Dispenser Hub’s
Power Input connection (for existing locations, perform a reboot of the Dispenser Hub
through the System Maintenance Toolbar).
Note: The Dispenser Hub is shipped from Gilbarco with a pre-programmed IP address of
10.5.48.5. If communication between the Dispenser Hub and the Passport POS is
present, the Dispenser Hub begins a download (indicated by rapid blinking of the
green and amber LEDs on the LAN port). If communication is not present, refer to
“Appendix B: Testing Connection to the LAN”
on
for testing the LAN
“Appendix C: Resetting the NGCRIND.exe Process”
for programming the Dispenser Hub’s IP address.
4
For new installations, ensure that all clients have the Cashier Workstation application
running and are ready for use. For existing locations, ensure that all clients have been
rebooted (through

).
5
After the Dispenser Hub completes downloading (refer to
on
), apply AC power to the D-Box.
Note: When downloading to Wayne CATs, it is important that all units download at the
same time. After all connections are made and DHUB power restored, the download
begins. Evaluate all fueling positions to ensure that each position is downloading
simultaneously. If for some reason one or more positions are out of sync, perform a
stop and start of the Passport Server application. This must synchronize the
download. If it does not synchronize the download, power off any fueling position
that is out of sync and power it back up, after the other downloads are complete.
6
Verify proper LED activity on the T19547-G1, T20488-G2, or T20636-G1 Boards in the
D-Box.
7
Replace the D-Box cover and secure it with screws. After communication is established to
the CATs and dispensers, proceed to
