Troubleshooting Steps
Keypad Issues
The following is a checklist of actions that can help resolve a keypad issue.
Buttons Not Working (No Beep)
If buttons on the keypad are not working correctly, try the following steps until the problem is
resolved.
Note: These steps are not in sequential order.
• Warmstart CAT.
• The keypad may not be programmed correctly. Reprogram the keypad.
• Replace the keypad.
CPC D-Box
The following procedures can help resolve CPC D-Box issues.
No Power
If there is no power to the CPC D-Box, proceed as follows:
1
Check for 120 VAC at the power cord. If the voltage is correct, proceed to step
2
Check connector P101 for voltages. The following voltages are in reference to ground.
Measure Between
Voltage
Red wire (pin 1) and Red wire (pin 2)
Between 12 to 13 VAC
Green and Yellow wires (pin 3)
0 VAC
Blue wire (pin 4) and Blue wire (pin 6)
Between 14 to 15 VAC
Blank
N/A
• If there are no voltages, replace the transformer.
• If all voltages are fine, and there is still no power, check the following test points located
on the CPC D-Box Board.
Test Points
Voltage
+12un to Ground
Approx. 13 VDC
+5un to Ground
Approx. 5 VDC
Gnd to Ground
Approx. 0 VDC
After checking the test points, if voltages are correct and there is still no power, check the
jump jacks and loop back connectors. Do one of the following:
• If jumpers are installed in the unused pigtail positions, cut the unused pigtail loops
connected to the distribution board and cap the wires with wire nuts.
• If jumpers are not installed in the unused pigtail positions, do not cut the unused pigtail
loops.
