Appendix B: Testing Connection to the LAN
To test the connectivity of the Dispenser Hub to the LAN, proceed as follows:

At the server or client, press
CTRL+ ALT +P
simultaneously.

Enter
passport_tech
in the User ID field; then press
Enter
. A message appears with a code
instructing you to call the Gilbarco Support Center to obtain a single-use password.

Provide the code to the Support Center analyst.

Enter the password obtained from the Support Center analyst in the Password field. The
System Maintenance toolbar appears.

Click
MS-DOS
to open the Command Prompt window.

At the command prompt, enter the following command:
ping [IP Address]
where [IP Address] = the IP address of the Dispenser Hub (for example, ping 10.5.48.5)

Press
Enter
; then view the response. You will receive one of the following responses:
• Reply from [IP Address]: Component is communicating with the server.
• “Request Timed Out”: Component is not communicating with the server.

Type
exit
at the prompt; then press
Enter
to close the Command Prompt window.
Note: The power fail process in the Dispenser Hub must be performed through the Power
Cable and not the Power Connector.
