3 – Keypad Programming
Introduction
CPC Basic Input Output System (BIOS) diagnostics is a special application that is activated
only at competitive CRIND devices. It allows programming and diagnostics to be performed
at the competitive CRIND devices.
The diagnostics application is started and stopped by swiping the CAT Diagnostics Card. The
diagnostics application resides in the CPC control system in the Passport system. It is different
from the Gilbarco MOC diagnostics application that resides in the CAT device. The
application can only be started when the Passport system is able to communicate with a CAT
device.
Keypad Programming Concerns
Wayne CATs may use a membrane overlay or a mechanical doublewide keypad. The Passport
system does not require any specific steps for programming mechanical keypads as opposed to
membrane overlays. Also, certain competitive CRIND keypads have special keypad
programming rules that must be followed to program the keypad correctly. The Passport
system supports standard numeric keypads, as well as keypads that have the numeric keys
mapped in unique positions (calculator style, and so on). The keypads must be programmed
according to how the overlay is mapped for proper operation.
General Programming
For general programming, proceed as follows:

Pick any CRIND device with the base keypad and perform the keypad programming as
follows:
• Perform application key programming (Help, Outside Cash/Credit, Inside Cash/Credit,
and so on).
• At the competitive CRIND device, select “Update All” to update ALL CRIND keypads at
the site.

Update similar keypads at each competitive CRIND device by loading the default keypad
(refer to step

For each competitive CRIND keypad that differs from the base keypad, perform programming
that is unique to that, as required; then perform the following:
• Perform application key programming (Help, Outside Cash/Credit, Inside Cash/Credit,
and so on).
• At the competitive CRIND device, update only the CRIND keypad being programmed.
