«CHOKE» (if provided) cold start
«SLOW» for minimum engine speed
«FAST» for maximum engine speed
– The «CHOKE» position (if fitted, in alternative
to the choke control 4.2) enriches the mixture
so must only be used for the necessary time
for cold starting.
– When moving from one area to another, put
the lever in a position between «SLOW» and
«FAST».
– When cutting, shift into «FAST».
4.4 KEY IGNITION SWITCH (Fig. 4.1 no.4)
This key operated control has three positions:
«OFF» everything is switched off;
«ON» activates all parts;
«START» engages the starter motor.
– On being released at the «START» position,
the key will automatically return to «ON».
4.5 PARKING BRAKE (Fig. 4.1 no.5)
This lever stops the machine from moving when
it has been parked. There are two positions:
«
A
» = Brake disengaged
«
B
» = Brake engaged
– The brake is applied by pressing the pedal
right down (4.31) and moving the lever to
position «B». When you take your foot off the
pedal it will be blocked by the lever in the low
-
ered position.
– To disengage the parking brake, press the
pedal (4.31). The lever will return to position
«A».
– The “Brake engaged” condition is indicated
by a pilot lamp (4.7.b).
4.6 HEADLIGHT SWITCH (Fig. 4.1 no.6).
For turning on the lights when the key (4.4) is in
the «ON» position.
4.7 Pilot lamps and audible warnings

The dashboard has a series of indicator lights
that are enabled with the ignition key (4.4) in the
«ON» position.
– When a warning light comes on, it indicates:
a)
the cutting means engaged;
b)
hand brake enabled;
c)
no operator present;
d)
(if fitted) low fuel;
e)
(if fitted) problems in theengine oil;
f)
grass catcher or rear discharge guard
missing;
g)
insufficient battery recharge;
h)
transmission in “neutral”position.
– There are two types of audible warning:
a) continuous
the electronic card’s protection
device has cut in;
b) intermittent
warning that the grass catcher
is full.
4.8
HOUR COUNTER (if provided)
(Fig. 4.1 no.8)
This starts working every time the key (4.4)is put
into the «ON» position and showsthe number of
hours the engine has beenrunning.
4.9 CUTTING MEANS ENGAGE AND
BRAKE CONTROLS (Fig. 4.1 no.9)
The button allows you to engage the cutting
means using the electromagnetic clutch:

» Released = Cutting means
disengaged

B
» Pressed = Cutting means engaged
– If you engage the cutting means without tak
-
ing the necessary safety precautions, the
engine shuts down and cannot be restarted
(see 5.2).
– In disengaging the cutting means (Pos. «A»),
a brake is simultaneously activated which
stops their rotation within a few seconds.
– The “Cutting means engaged” condition is
indicated by a pilot lamp (4.7.a).
4.10 CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
LEVER (Fig. 4.1 no.10)
There are seven positions for this lever, shown
as «1» to «7» on the label, which correspond to
various heights between 3 and 9 cm.
