1. Re move chin/nape strap as sem bly as fol lows:
a. Un lace the chin strap from the dou ble D-rings.
b. Un snap the other end of the chin strap from
the sin gle D-ring.
c. Re move both earcup as sem blies from
the hel met.
d. Re move the TPL from the hel met.
e. If re plac ing the nape straps, re move the
clamps from the nape straps and set aside.
f. Re move the screws, wash ers, and T-nuts
fas ten ing the nape straps to the left and
right rear of the hel met shell.
NOTE
Re tain the hard ware re moved
in Step f for re in stal la tion.
Note how the straps are laced through
the nape pad be fore dis as sem bly.
g. Re move the nape straps from the nape pad.
h. With draw the nape straps through the slots
in the hel met shell.
i. Dis card de fec tive chin/nape strap
as sem bly com po nent(s). Re tain ser vice -
able com po nents for re-as sem bly.
