4. Dis as sem ble the hous ing, tracks, and spac ers.
NOTE
Six posts (three on each side) ex ist in side the hel met shell. If these need
to be re placed, re move the en ergy-ab sorb ing liner as de scribed in Para -
graph 3-4.2.9 to ac cess them.
5. Dis card de fec tive parts; re tain ser vice able parts; ob tain re place ment parts as
nec es sary.
NOTE
If you re moved the posts, in stall the new ones; then re in stall the
en ergy-ab sorb ing liner and TPL as de scribed in Para graph 3-4.2.9.
6. Re as sem ble the spac ers,
tracks, and hous ing with out
the vi sor; align them over
the posts pro trud ing up -
ward from the hel met. Re -
at tach these parts to the
hel met shell with the six
screws.
7. Slide the vi sor into the
tracks. Align the vi sor
lock over the hous ing
slot; in sert the key
length wise into the slot
and into the vi sor cut out;
ro tate the vi sor lock a
quar ter turn.
8. Raise and lower the
vi sor to test for proper
op er a tion. If the vi sor
does not move freely,
loosen the screws,
hold the vi sor hous ing
at the sides, and move
the hous ing side to side
as re quired un til the vi sor
op er ates smoothly.
Tighten the screws.
