Clear Functions
The SC-SDT provides several CLI commands for clearing unit statistics and logs, as well as
statistics collected on each port.

To access the help for clear commands, type:
clear ?
•
To clear collected data on one particular port, type:
clear port-counters port
[#]
•
To clear collected data on all ports, type:
clear port-counters

Chat Communication
The
chat call
and
chat hello
commands allow two SC-SDT users with CLI connections
to the device to communicate via plain text in a separate window. This feature is useful in informing
a connected CLI user of pending configuration or software maintenance on the SC-SDT which may
interrupt port or device access.
1. Chat call/hello communication is typically employed during SC-SDT installation. Two CLI
users can chat if they are both on CLI across the IP network.
2. The calling CLI user initiates a text message session with the remote user by typing:
chat call
[remote unit IP address]
3. A split window appears where the remote user then types
chat hello
to answer the call
and permit incoming text messages. Both CLI users may type text messages simultaneously.
The session ends when a user closes the message window by typing
CTRL-C
.
Note
Only CLI users can employ the
chat call
and
chat hello
commands, not port users.
