Sync Ports
(Interface “C” in Figure 2-1 )
Three synchronous data Transport ports are provided at the SC-SDT front panel. Each port supports
several types of serial interfaces: V.35 in DTE and DCE mode; EIA/TIA-449 in DTE and DCE
mode; EIA/TIA-232 in DTE and DCE mode; X.21 in DTE mode and DCE mode; EIA530 in DTE
mode; and EIA530A in DTE mode.
Each “smart” cable connects to the SC-SDT via a 26-pin connector. The following figure and tables
describe the pinouts for each interface. Arrows in the tables indicate signal direction:
--> means DTE to DCE
<-- means DCE to DTE
Note
To achieve DCE connectivity with the EIA530 or EIA530A interface, a crossover cable is required.
