Read this before operating
Ettan IPGphor 3
All users must read the entire Ettan IPGphor 3 Operating Instructions before installing,
operating or maintaining the instrument. Always keep the Operating Instructions at
hand when using Ettan IPGphor 3.
Do not operate Ettan IPGphor 3 in any other way than described in the user documenta-
tion. If you do, you may be exposed to hazards that can lead to personal injury and you
may cause damage to the equipment.
Intended use
Ettan IPGphor 3 Isoelectric Focusing System performs the first-dimension isoelectric fo-
cusing (IEF) step in 2-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis. The system comprises GE's
Ettan IPGphor 3, combined with separate strip holders or a manifold. Two types of
manifolds are available; the ceramic manifold and the light manifold. The IEF separation
protocols are programmed, run and controlled from the Ettan IPGphor 3 control panel
or from a PC running the Ettan IPGphor 3 Control Software.
Ettan IPGphor 3 is intended to be used as a laboratory unit for research purposes.
Ettan IPGphor 3 shall not be used in any clinical procedures, or for diagnostic purposes.
