Emergency procedures

Introduction

This section describes how to perform an emergency shutdown of Ettan IPGphor 3 and
the result in the event of power failure.

Emergency shutdown

Switch off power to the instrument by pressing the Power switch to the 0 position (1). If
required, disconnect the mains power cord (2). The run is interrupted immediately.

This will ensure that the power is cut immediately even if an uninterruptible power supply
(UPS) is used.

Power failure

In the event of system shutdown due to power failure, emergency stop or process inter-
ruption, malfunctions must be rectified before the Ettan IPGphor 3 is restarted.

The result of a power failure depends on which unit is affected.
