There are many other channel modules that can be configured and tested using IntraGuide software.
The IntraGuide Help gives specific information about IntraGuide channel module configuration and
status pages.
4.3 ISiCL Interface
Using ISiCL commands from a PC or dumb terminal, you can set the module’s operating parameters
and make status and configuration inquiries. Your Intraplex multiplexer operating manual gives details
on using ISiCL remote control commands. IntraGuide software also allows you to configure and
monitor multiple Intraplex systems from one control point (Section 4.2 –
IntraGuide Software
).
The PT-353 module reports as a TYPE 116 module; the PR-353 module reports as a TYPE 091 module.
For remote access, each channel module in an Intraplex multiplexer must have a distinct card
address. Valid card addresses are the numbers 1 to 36. Table 4-1 provides the switch settings for card
addresses. The remote control interface for this module involves two sets of codes: “P” (parameter)
codes and “S” (status) codes.
4.3.1
P Codes
You can use P codes in the parameter field of an ISiCL SET command to set parameters on the module
via remote control, just like setting the switches on a module under local control. P codes also appear
in the response to a CONFIG? query, providing a list of the current parameter settings on the module.
A typical PT-353 response to a CONFIG? query looks like this example:
* OK
CHANNEL CARD 3, TYPE 116
UNDER LOCAL CONTROL
SRVC = ON
P01 = 1 (B00000001)
P02 = 229 (B11100101)
P03 = 0 (B00000000)
P04 = 3 (B00000011)
P05 = 0 (B00000000);
Similarly, a typical PR-353 response to a CONFIG? query looks like this example:
* OK
CHANNEL CARD 3, TYPE 091
UNDER LOCAL CONTROL
SRVC = ON
P01 = 1 (B00000001)
P02 = 229 (B11100101)
P03 = 0 (B00000000)
P04 = 3 (B00000011)
P05 = 0 (B00000000);
There are five P code registers for the PT-353 and the PR-353 modules. Each is a number from 0 to
255, also represented as an eight-digit binary number (in parentheses). You may use either the
decimal or the binary representation for both setting and interpreting the P codes.
P01 represents the starting time slot selection on both the PT-353 and the PR-353 modules. Simply
issue a command in the form:
<multiplexer address>:<card address>:SET:P1 = N;
where N is the decimal value of the desired starting time slot (1 to 24 in T1-based systems; 0 to 31 in
2 MB-based systems). For example, to set the starting time slot at time slot 2, use this command:
1:8:SET:P1 = 2;
