2. Fill your food into the container, leaving at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) of free space bet-
ween your food and the rim of the container. Ensure keeping the rim of the container
and container lid clean and dry. Close the container with the container lid.
3. Place the appliance onto a suitable surface. Connect the vacuum hose to the
vacuum port of the appliance. Connect the small plug of the power cord to the
power socket at the side of the appliance. Insert the power plug into a suitable
wall power outlet. Close the lid of the appliance.
4. Open the lid of the appliance and check that the drip tray is completely empty
(see: ‘Emptying the Drip Tray’). Close the lid of the appliance.
5. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum port of the container lid. Press the vacu-
um hose down firmly to ensure a tight fit. With a manually adjustable pressure
valve at the container lid, ensure that the valve is in the open position. Other-
wise, the container cannot be evacuated.
6. Shortly touch the stop button to switch on the appliance. The display areas illumi-
nate, showing the preset sealing time and vacuum time. However, these values
will be ignored, when using the container function. There is no use in making
any settings.
7. Touch the container button for starting the evacuation. The vacuum pump starts
operation and will be working until the pre-defined low pressure is reached.
Thereafter, the vacuum pump stops automatically.
8. With a manually operated pressure valve at the container lid, close the pressure
valve. Other types of pressure valves (check valves) close automatically.
NOTE
You may cancel the process at any time by pressing the stop button . The appli-
ance will stop operation at once and ventilate the vacuum port. However, contai-
ners equipped with a check valve will keep the pressure already reached. If you
wish to stop evacuation at the pressure already reached when using containers
with a manually operated pressure valve, simply shut the pressure valve at the lid
of the container. The appliance stops operation automatically.
WARNING
– After operation, the interior of the container is under low pres-
sure (vacuum). Even little damages of the container or improper treatment may
cause implosion of evacuated containers. Always handle any evacuated contai-
ners with special care to avoid injuries and damage due to splinters and splashes
being hurled about. Do not expose evacuated containers to heat, mechanical or
thermal shocks, or direct sunlight.
