your own bags of individual size. For making your own bags, proceed according
to the following instructions. Operate the appliance in an equivalent manner to seal
an already prepared bag under normal pressure.
IMPORTANT -
The sealing time is a crucial parameter for getting an airtight sealing.
For your first attempts, or when using foils of another manufacturer, you should make
some tests first. The sealing must be smooth, even and tear-proof all over without
melted areas at the rim of the sealing area. Adapt the sealing time accordingly.
NOTE
To get an airtight sealing, the foil must be clean, dry, and without wrinkles in the
sealing area.
NOTE
If you wish to seal very large items, you should leave up to 8 cm (3 inches) of free
space at one end of the foil. This way, it may be easier to get all wrinkles out of
the top of the bag, when placing the bag onto the heating bar.
1. From the bag material (foil tube) measure out a sufficient length to hold the items
to be packed, with additional 5 cm (2 inches) of free space on top and at the
bottom. Using a sharp knife or a pair of scissors, cut the desired bag length. It
is crucial to cut in a straight line.
2. Place the appliance onto a suitable surface and insert the small plug of the
power cord into the power socket of the appliance first, then insert the power
plug into a suitable wall power outlet.
3. Open the lid and push the rim of the bag onto the heating bar. Ensure to spread out
the foil smooth on the heating bar and without any folds and gaps. Close the lid.
4. Touch the stop button to switch on the appliance. The display areas illuminate,
showing the default sealing time and vacuum time.
5. Touch the arrow buttons for setting the desired sealing time shown on the left
display area. There is no need for setting the vacuum time, because this setting
will be ignored.
6. With the desired sealing time on the display, touch the seal only button . The
appliance closes the lid firmly and starts the sealing process. The remaining
sealing time is shown in a count-down.
7. Wait for some seconds, after the sealing time elapsed. When the recently set
sealing time is displayed again, the appliance releases the lid automatically.
