3.3.11 SEED LEVEL IN THE HOPPER
The level of seed in the hopper can be easily controlled by the
operator from the driver’s seat by checking the indicator (Fig. 26).
3.3.12 SEED DISCHARGE FROM THE HOPPER
Proceed as follows to discharge the seeds from the hopper:
- extract the lock pin (A Fig. 22) and, using the handle, move the
seed collectors support in the direction of the arrow.
- release the seed collecbon tanks (Fig. 23) and position them
beneath the seed discharge mouths.
- for large quantities, it is advisable to utilize the crank handle on
the transmission arm (Fig. 24) in order to turn the stirrer spindle,
thus checking the quantity in discharge on the hoppers; for
small quantities to discharge, move the doser lever beyond the
position 9 (Fig. 29).
- after seed discharge has been completed, return the tanks,
bush-holder, and dosage adjustment lever to their initial work
positions.
3.4 DURING WORK
The seeder has been studied to allow a high sowing speed,
compatible with the type and surface of the ground.
Bear in mind that a variation in tractor speed does not lead to a
corresponding variation in seed sown per hectare.
Always work at a constant speed. Sudden changes in speed will
result in an uneven distribution of the product.
CAUTION
Maintain e seeding speed compatible with type and cultivation
of the soil in order to avoid breakages or damage.
At the start of each new passage, the machine travels for approx
a metre before the seeds reach the seed-planting furrow through
the delivery tubes. Vice versa, at the end of the passage, it
discharges all the seeds present in the delivery tubes. This should
always be borne in mind to obtain a good final result.
Always respect the following rules for successful sowing:
- Keep the hydraulic lifhng unit in its lowest position.
- every now and then check that the furrowers are not covered
with vegetable residues or clogged with soil that retains the
seeds.
- check that the distributors are free from foreign bodies, that
may have accidentally entered the hopper. They could compro-
mise regular operation.
In the occurrence of you need to sow with half machine, take
away the protection case of the take-off transmission, release
the (A) or (B) pin of Fig. 30 in order to switch off the motion to
the right or left, respectively, seed distributors.
