3.3.4 BLADE ADJUSTMENT
The discharge mouth closing blades (C Fig. 15) for the
discharging of the seeds from the hopper, have
three adjustment
positions
(Fig. 17):
1)
Position 0
: when the blade is completely lowered it closes
the seed discharge mouth completely and shuts out the
distributor roller to which seeds no longer flow.
2)
Position 1
: by raising the blade to the first setting, the medium
aperture position indicated in the enclosed table forsmall
seeds is obtained because the discharge mouth comes to
be only partially opened.
3)
Position 2
: this is the position of maximum aperture that is
indicated for medium and large-sized seeds.
3.3.5 SOWING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
To obtain a good level at which sprouts come out, the seed needs
to be placed at the right depth into the seeding bed.
Hoe coulter, disc coulter
The seeding depth is adjusted simultaneously for all planting
devices through a crank (Fig. 17). By rotating it counterclockwise,
a stronger pressure can be exerted on the planting devices to the
ground by means of the extension springs, thus allowing deeper
seeding.
You can further adjust the pressure, separately, changing the
position of the tie-rod (B Fig. 18).
Only with hoe coulters there’s a spring (C, Fig. 18), which, when
completely released, allows to reset the weight of the single
spring element (D). In this situation it’s possible to make
superficial seedings.
Disc coulter
With disc coulters is possible to assemble a rear rubber wheel
(Fig. 19), which allows to check the seeding depht. Thanks to a
series of holes, you can set the same seeding depht for all the
coulter elements (Fig. 19).
A) minimum depht: 0 ÷ 0,5 cm
B) maximum depht: 8 cm
IMPORTANT: we advise against the use of the rear wheel on
moist soils.
3.3.6 ADJUSTMENT OF THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ROWS
The width of the planting unit and the number of the furrow
openers determine the distance between rows.
To change the interrow distance, follow the diagrams shown in
the Spare Parts Booklet according to the type of furrow opener.
To increase or decrease the interrow distance for sowing, remove
or add furrow openers as follows (Fig. 20):
- release the screw (A) of the coulter’s attachment;
- join or take away coulter elements;
- once the desired number of the furrowers has been obtained
they must all be set at the same distance (measured at the
furrowers), and the screws tightened again.
- hook the springs (B) on the suitable attachments .
- make sure that only the blades of the distributors that have the
telescoping tube (Fig. 21, C) are open; all the others must be
closed.
