3.3.8 TRIAL SOWING SPEED CHANGE CRANK TABLE
This table (table 3) shows the rpm number of the crank handle to
make a seeding test with stationary machine.
This rpm number depends on the model of the seeder and its
work width.
In the case of working widths that differ from those indicated in
the table, it is possible to calculate the n° of crank revolutions.
For example: There is a working width of 2.20 m.
For reference, use the values, n° of crank revolutions, of the
nearest working width which in this case is, according to the
table, 2.50 m with values: n° of crank revolutions= 27.
N° of crank revolutions width of 2.20 m:
27 x 2,50= 30,7 crank revolutions;

EASY METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF SOWING
TEST ROTATIONS
The number of crank rotations given in the table to be performed
for the stationary sowing test have been calculated on the basis
of ideal conditions. In actual working situations other factors can
cause significant variations between the values given in the table
and actual sowing results. The most common of these are: loss
of drive wheel adherence caused by moisture and/or terrain
conditions, fertilizers or other products mixed in with the seed
that reduce its flow rate, variations in seed weight, etc.
To obtain the actual number of crank rotations (for 1/100 ha),
proceed as follows: for a seeder 3,00 m wide. When large
quantities are to be distributed per hectare (e.g. wheat, barley,
peas, etc.) set the planting unit as in
table 4
and fill the hopper to
half its normal load. Cover a distance of 33,3 m, counting:
a)
the number of rotations made by the drive wheel and multiply
by 1,6 (wheel/ crank handle’s rotation point) to obtain the
number of crank rotations to perform for the stationary test.
Ex.: 9 wheel rotations counted x 1,6 =
22,4 gear rotations.
IMPORTANT: The length of the test run will vary depending on the
working width, such that the product of the width (in m) ´ test run
(in m) is always equal to a surface area of 100 m
2
(1/100 of a
hectare).
3.3.9 ADJUSTMENT TABLE OF THE SEEDER
