Note:
If exit terminator is required program zone as ET
If unset doorbell is required allocate chime to the
ET zone.
Exit terminator zone must be AZ zone
Setting Mode should be programmed for ET
Note:
AZ zones are +ve
TZ zones are -ve
To comply with BS4737 alarm and tamper loops
should be oposite polarity
Any unused zones may be programmed to off
and the factory fitted link can be removed from the
zone terminals.
It is not advisable to connect normally open devices
onto a TZ loop

Zone Connections
(control panel 4 Wire option)
Three wiring methods are possible for the zones located on the main PCB in the
Gardtec
840
control panel. The first is 4 wire or normal type wiring, if this default
option is chosen 8 double pole zones are available (8 alarm zones and 8 tamper
zones).
To use the 4 wire option the control panel should be programmed for 8 (4 WIRE)
in the programming section 'PROGRAM ZONE WIRING' (option No.50).This is the
default setting.
Each zone is fully programmable. Details of the zone options available are given in the
section 'Programmable Options Description'. Each alarm zone is marked as AZx and is
a positive loop, each tamper zone is marked as TZx and is a negative loop.
If pressure pads or other normally open devices, are to be used the AZ zone should be
shorted to the TZ zone by the device in order to activate the AZ zone.
Typical wiring of various detectors is given in Fig. 23
