1. Safety Operating Instructions

29 

SRS System Components

 

The SRS system mainly consists of three parts:

 

•

Electric control and monitoring device.

•

SRSs with gas generator.

•

Indicator lights in the instrument cluster (

)

(Please refer to Page 65)

.

The airbag is monitored by electric monitoring 
system located in airbag control unit. Switch the 
Start switch or ignition switch to the "ON" position, 
the indicator light illuminates for a few seconds 
then extinguishes after self-checking.

 

The SRS indicator light indicates a fault 
developing in the system in one of the following 
conditions:

 

1.

After the Start switch or ignition switch is
switched to "ON" position, the indicator light
does not illuminate.

2.

After the Start switch or ignition switch is
switched to "ON" position, the indicator light
stays illuminated.

3.

After the Start switch or ignition switch is
switched to "ON" position, the indicator light
illuminates again after turning off.

4.

When the vehicle is running, the indicator
light illuminates or flashes.
