4.1 Maintenance Instructions
Safety Precautions
To avoid potential hazards, read this chapter
before your operation, and make sure you have
the tools and skills required.
●
Make sure your car is parked on level ground,
the engine is off, and the parking brake is
applied.
●
To clean components, use a commercially
available degreaser or components cleaner,
not gasoline.
●
To reduce the possibility of fire or explosion,
keep cigarettes, sparks, and flames away
from the battery and all fuel-related parts.
●
Wear goggles and protective clothing when
working with the battery or compressed air.
Warning
Driving after incorrect maintenance or
before solving safety related failures may
cause traffic accidents and lead to severe
injury or death.
Potential Car Hazards
●
Carbon monoxide: Carbon monoxide from
engine exhaust is poisonous. Be sure there
is adequate ventilation whenever you
operate the engine.
●
Scald: the engine and exhaust system will
produce high temperature when working,
which is very easy to cause scald. Therefore,
do not touch any components until the
engine has been stopped for at least 30
minutes
and the engine and exhaust system
have cooled down.
Caution
Some of the most important safety
precautions are given in this chapter.
However, we cannot warn you of every
conceivable hazard that can be raised in
maintenance.
