1.1.2 Correct Sitting Position of
Passengers
Correct Sitting Position of the Driver
Correct driving position has a direct influence on
driving safety and fatigue.
For the safety of yourself and the passengers, to
reduce the risk of accidental injuries and deaths,
the driver is recommended to do the following
operation:
–
Adjust the driver's seat forward or backward,
so that you can effectively operate all pedals
with legs bent slightly.
–
Adjust the seat backrest to proper position,
so that your back can fully contact with the
seat backrest.
–
Adjust the headrest properly
(Please refer to
Page 112
)
.
–
Adjust steering wheel to ensure that the
distance between steering wheel and your
chest should not be less than 25cm.
–
Wear seat belts properly
(Please refer to
Page 21
)
.
Warning
•
Adjusting the steering wheel until it
faces your chest, which can effectively
reduce the injury caused by an inflating
frontal airbag.
•
If your chest is too close to the steering
wheel, you cannot get effective
protection from airbags, and can be
seriously injured by an inflating frontal
airbag.
•
Your hands should always hold the
steering wheel outside edge (at the 9
o'clock and 3 o'clock positions) to
ensure you can see all instruments and
indicator lights on the instrument
cluster.
• While driving, do not recline the
backrest too far. Wear the seat belt
correctly and keep correct sitting
position to avoid injury caused by
emergency braking.
