How to show or hide the grid
The grid, which is useful for measuring the distance to a target, can be shown or
hidden as follows.
Touch control:
1. Press the
MENU/ESC
key to open [Menu].
2. Tap [SONAR].
3. Tap [Grid].
[Off]/[On] selection box appears.
4. Tap [Off] or [On].
5. Tap [×] on the title bar to close [MENU].
Key control:
1. Press the
MENU/ESC
key to open [Menu].
2. Select [SONAR] with the arrow keys, then press the
ENTER
key.
3. Select [Grid] with the arrow keys, then press the
ENTER
key.
[Off]/[On] selection box appears.
4. Select [Off] or [On]
with the arrow keys, then press the
ENTER
key.
5. Press the
MENU/ESC
key to close [Menu].

Zoom display
The bottom echo can be zoomed by pinching
the screen as shown right.
With pinch actions, selected area and echo can
be zoomed in or zoomed out.
When connecting trackball control unit RCU-030, the same operation can be done with
the scroll wheel.
4.5.3
How to smooth echoes (distance)
If echoes are “disconnected” because of an undulating bottom, change the setting of
[Echo Smoothing] – [Distance] to [Low], [Medium] or [High] as necessary. Smoothing
is done in the range direction to smooth the echo presentation.
Touch control:
1. Press the
MENU/ESC
key to open [Menu].
2. Tap [SONAR].
3. Tap [Echo Smoothing].
4. Tap [Distance].
[Off]/[Low]/[Medium]/[High] selection box appears.
5. Tap [Off], [Low], [Medium] or [High].
6. Tap [×] on the title bar to close [MENU].
Key control:
1. Press the
MENU/ESC
key to open [Menu].
2. Select [SONAR] with the arrow keys, then press the
ENTER
key.
3. Select [Echo Smoothing] with the arrow keys, then press the
ENTER
key.
