6.  HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THE SONAR

6.2.1

How to execute a program

1. Press desired function key to show the applicable dialog box. 

When the

 key is pressed

2. Press the same function key again within five seconds to execute the function. 

The dialog box automatically disappears in five seconds. You can also close the 
dialog box manually by pressing any function key other than the one pressed at 
step 1.

Note: 

Functions registered to the function keys can be activated by using the soft-

ware function keys which appear at the bottom of display.

6.2.2

How to program the function keys

You can change the default setting of a function key or register a timer function to a 
function key as shown below. Note that some menu items cannot be programmed to 
the function keys. See the menu tree on page AP-1 to AP-5 for items which can be 
programmed for function keys.

1. Press the 

MENU/ESC

 key to open the menu.

2. Place the cursor on the desired function and select to highlight it in yellow. To reg-

ister the timer function, left-click on the display “00:00:00” to highlight it in yellow.

Note: 

To show/hide the timer, select [ON] or [OFF] in [Timer Display] menu of 

[Display Setting] menu.

3. Press desired function key for more than one second. The message shown below 

appears for five seconds.

4. Press the same function key again, and the message shown below appears. 

Note: 

The [Function Key Registration] window location can be adjusted. 

Consult a FURUNO technician to adjust the location.
