INSTRUMENT UPDATES.
•
Instrument updates are provided by Furness Controls from time to time to enhance
instrument performance and fix known problems. You can receive these updates
through your email system and will be sent to you in the form of a zipped up folder.
Unzip to reveal a single folder entitled ‘
FCO770_UDT
’. Copy this folder to the root
of a spare USB memory stick. This USB stick folder contains all the files needed to
perform the update and should be inserted into the front or rear USB-A socket on the
FCO770.
•
Press the Update FCO770 menu button to start the update and you will be presented
with a dialogue window asking you to confirm that your memory stick is inserted.
Press OK when ready.

The update file will now be copied into a temporary location on the FCO770 and you
will be asked to remove the memory stick before proceeding. Click OK when ready.
•
An information window will now pop up with details of the components available in
the update together with their version numbers as below:

Once you are happy this is the update you require, then click OK to commence the
update.
WARNING: DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE INSTRUMENT
ONCE THE UPDATE IS IN PROGRESS OR IT COULD
CORRUPT THE INSTRUMENT AND MAKE IT
UNUSABLE.

If only a
Host Boot Loader
or
Host Firmware update
is available, then they will
install whilst showing a progress bar. The update is complete when the dialogue
window vanishes.
•
If a
Main Application
update is available, this will be the last to install and will
required 2 automatic re-boots of the system. The update will be finished when the
screen shows a black window with text prompting you to switch off and then on your
FCO770. Use the front power toggle button to do this and after the usual initialisation
sequence, your FCO770 will be ready to use.
