Problem Solutions
Pages have toner stains or • If this problem occurs after a
horizontal smudging paper jam, print several pages.
• Clean the paper path.
• If the fuser unit is damaged,
contact your dealer.
• Replace the drum unit.
Turn the thick paper mode on or
select the thickness control menu
then select an option in media
mode using the control panel.

Check if the thick paper mode is
on by using the control panel; if
the mode is on, turn it off.
Thin slant lines are too light. Set the smoothing mode in the
Quality menu to ON.
Caution:
Whenever replacing the developer unit or drum unit due to any
troubles, clear the corresponding service-life counter (whether or not
the message display indicated
"REPLACE PARTS" ), or the printer
indicates the "REPLACE PARTS" message for the new unit at a
wrong timing. See Replacing the Developer Unit or Drum Unit in
Chapter 4.
Toner insufficiently adheres
to or easily comes off paper
when you are printing thick
or special paper.
Paper become wavy or
printing is too light in
duplex printing when you
are printing thin paper.
Vertical lines appear in
solid black printing, stains
appear in the back of a
page, or paper is wrinkled
or curled.
